What a stellar performance by Haverhill’s finest (not)

Talk about how to ruin a nice night of pool in one easy lesson…

I went down to RG’s, the local bar, for my usual Friday night pool playing last Friday. As usual my brother met me there and we had some good games, with him continuing his generosity of leaving me a shot for the eight ball.  Our father also came in to try his luck on the table. Things were going great and we were having a couple drinks and playing some good pool. The next thing I know two guys have this other guy by the arms and they are hustling him into the bathroom. What the…??? A minute or two later out they come and throw the guy on the floor and handcuff his hands behind his back. Oh, this must be some kind of drug bust. They then grab another guy and throw him against the wall and start going through his pockets. Mind you, these are two guys in plain clothes who have shown no ID. Over comes the bartender, a skinny little lady who weighs 80 pounds soaking wet. She says something to the cops and the yelling starts. One of the cops starts yelling at the top of his lungs about how the people in this bar are all a–holes and they let this drug dealing go on and what the hell is the matter with everybody in here…. He starts pushing people around and down goes the bartender to the floor right at my feet.  She’s slow getting up so I help her to her feet. The other cop starts in with his rant- “Who else wants to say something…come on, let’s hear it! who else has something to say… blah, blah, blah…” Man, these guys are just out of control yelling and screaming at the whole bar and everyone in it. This goes on for a few minutes and then the bartender must have something else because I hear “Lock her up  too! We’re closing this place down! Everybody out!” Blue lights start flashing in the windows as police cars pull up to the bar and more cops pile in.  The bartender is bent over the pool table I was just playing on getting handcuffs put on her. It is a very ugly scene. I turn to my father and brother and tell them that I have seen enough to be thoroughly digusted and I am out of here. They leave right behind me.

I tell you, that crazy scene looked like something out of a bad movie. The cops had their man on the floor handcuffed and ready to go. It should have ended there, but no, they had to get into the whole tough guy thug routine and terrorize the whole bar. It was truly disrespectful of everyone in the place and a very, very ugly display of the abuse of police power. I always heard the universal police motto was “To protect and serve.” Someone needs to remind these rogue officers of that motto so they can do their jobs with a lot more class and professionalism.

Wake up Haverhill, Massachusetts police. This is not the way it should be done.

Welcome to the new year everybody.

I haven’t posted to my new blog for a while but I am going to try to update it much more in the future.  I think I will take a pool and billiards slant to try and help the traffic to my http://www.pool-and-pocket-billiards-resource.com/ and http://www.pool-for-beginners.com/ web sites. These sites  are really my main focus right now and hopefully this blog will help out those efforts.

I decided to start the Pool for Beginners site after several people suggested that my content should include more basic instructions and knowledge for those that are new to the billiards world. I remember when I started playing pool and how hard it was to learn the ins and outs  of the game. If I can shorten people’s learning curve I feel it will be a worthwhile endeavor. I also plan to add some content of my pool playing. I usually play on Friday nights, so I will throw a little of my experiences in there and see what happens.

Next item of business – learn how to work this WordPress software…..

I was playing with some web site building software I bought last night. It is XSitePro. I have gone throught the 100+ page tutorial and built a sample website already. Last night I was reading the 400+ page manual so I can really find out what this program can do. By the looks of it, it can really do a lot. I have some web sites to build in the near future, so this should save me some time and help me design some nice looking sites.

I saw a very moving video yesterday by Joe Vitale. In it he is talking about his latest discovery – Ho’oponopono. (I think I got that spelling right.) It is a small system for “cleaning” your subconscious mind so as to get things in your life on the right track. You say the mantra “I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you” to the Divine or the Universe or to God or to whoever you believe in, over and over. I have personally had some small success with this method and am hoping for much larger success in the near future. I have used other things to get myself right with the Universe in the past, such as the Sedona Method, Holosync, EFT, and others, and this one is another in the quest for enlightenment and a blissful life. It is easy to do so why not? It can’t hurt right? Since I haven’t yet figured out how to imbed a video in this blog, I will give the URL to the video below so others may see it and hopefully get some enjoyment and enlightenment from it like I did.

This is the URL to Joe’s blog and the video is called 15 minute Miracle – http://blog.mrfire.com/

OK, I have a blog now. I have to write something… Let’s see….

Greetings to anyone that sees these ramblings. I plan to turn this blog into a sort of story of my life and times. I will chronicle my various hobbies and interests and my attempts to earn a living from the web, so I can finally and definitely quit my job and have time for a life.

I currently have my first web  site if full swing – http://www.pool-and-pocket-billiards-resource.com/. It is starting to get some traffic and make me a little money, and I will continue to develop it. Obviously playing pool is one of my latest favorite hobbies and I usually play every Friday night.  I play down at the local bar where the pool is free and many of my friends hang out. It’s always good for a few laughs.

Getting ready to launch my next site -  www.PoolforBeginners.com. This will be similar to my other site except it will be more slanted to beginner pool players. I will make everything more basic and cater to people who know very little about pool and wish to learn the ins and outs. There will be lots of “how to shoot” and “what you need to know” type stuff. I have been finding lots of articles and things about pool and billiards on the web, so this time around I don’t think I will write everything on every page. We’ll see.

One of my other hobbies is restoring houses. My wife and I just got the two downstairs living rooms finished before Thanksgiving. We have everybody over to our house for that holiday, and most folks seemed to really like what how we did the rooms. My wife is the decorator and she did a nice job on these rooms.

Well, this is more rambling than I thought I would do so I guess I’ll get back to work for a while.  If anyone sees this and cares to comment, please feel free. I’d like to hear it. I have to learn all the features of this wordpress software, so maybe tonight I’ll get back at it.
